As expected, the Dallas Mavericks will be without Anthony Davis for their Saturday night meeting with the Clippers in Los Angeles.

Davis was officially ruled out for the game with what was deemed left calf injury management. The forward, who hadn’t played since Oct. 29 with a calf strain, returned to the Mavericks’ lineup Friday against the Lakers.

Davis told reporters he would get some work in on Saturday, but head coach Jason Kidd confirmed he would not be available since the Mavericks planned to rest him for the second leg of the back-to-back against the Clippers. He is expected to return to the lineup Monday in Denver.

The Mavericks will also take the court Saturday without center Daniel Gafford (right ankle injury management). Klay Thompson was initially listed as out for the game, but was upgraded to available a few hours before tip-off.
