Sturgeon Bay’s boys basketball team opened the season Nov. 25 with a 49-34 non-conference victory at home against Chilton.

The Clippers, who led 29-20 at halftime, had two players end up scoring in double figures. Sam Fruzyna tallied a game-high 18-points, which included five three-pointers. Ben Ash added 15 points.

“There was an energy about how we played from the start of the game that we carried through all 36 minutes that I was really impressed with,” said Sturgeon Bay head coach Zach Goblisch. “Our defensive intensity, hustle for loose balls and rebounds, and overall fight on both ends of the floor were crucial in getting the win [Nov. 25].”

Wyatt Gregory led the Tigers with 15 points.

The Clippers (1-0) play a non-conference road game Dec. 1 against Providence Academy, before their first Packerland matchup at home Dec. 4 against Peshtigo.
