On Peacock NBA Monday this week, the Phoenix Suns snapped the Los Angeles Lakers’ win streak with a 125-108 victory, but they did it without a key piece of their team. Devin Booker, the team’s leading scorer, went down early in the game with an injury, leaving the rest of the Suns to pull out the win.
How to Watch
Watch NBA on NBC on NBC and streaming on Peacock.
Booker, who’s currently in the NBA‘s Top 20 for both scoring and assists, played the first 10 minutes of the Suns/Lakers matchup before subbing out, and did not return for the rest of the game. So fans are questioning how serious his condition might be. Let’s take a look at what we know.

Devin Booker injured during Suns vs. Lakers game
Booker didn’t go down especially hard, but Suns head coach Jordan Ott later told ESPN that a contact-heavy finish at the basket against the Lakers’ Jaxson Hayes left the star shooting guard with some discomfort, possibly reaggravating an old groin injury.
“He fell and I don’t think it was right away, but he mentioned it might’ve just been a couple plays after, and you could obviously see him trying to stretch it at that point,” Ott said Monday night. “We kind of know where these things hit. We’ll take a look tomorrow, [and know] more after that.”
As of this writing, no detailed updates on Booker’s injury have been given, and he’s currently listed as “Day-To-Day.”

This isn’t the first time Booker’s dealt with a groin injury. Similar injuries have sidelined him in previous seasons, including an injury in the 2022-2023 season that saw him miss more than 20 games with lingering pain. We don’t yet know the severity of this one, but it’s safe to say that the Suns faithful are watching and holding their breath.
Booker’s sidelining comes at a very tough time in the Suns’ 2025 schedule. They’re set for a run of road games in the days to come, starting with a visit to Houston, where Booker’s old teammate Kevin Durant will face the Suns for the first time since he was traded to the Rockets. From there, they head to Minnesota and to Oklahoma City to face the dominant Thunder, before heading back home for a game against Steph Curry and the Warriors on December 18.
NBA action returns to NBC tonight for Coast 2 Coast Tuesday, as the Knicks take on the Celtics, followed by the Thunder and the Warriors. Games start at 8 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock.
