CHARLOTTE, N,C. (Charlotte Hornets) – The NBA announced today that Charlotte Hornets forward Kon Knueppel has been named Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month for games played in October and November. Knueppel becomes the 10th Hornets rookie to win Rookie of the Month and the first since Brandon Miller in March 2024.
Knueppel, the 4th pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, leads all rookies in scoring with 18.4 points per game and his 69 3-pointers made through Nov. 30 ranked first among rookies and 6th league-wide. The Duke product also led all rookies in 3-point percentage (.413 3P%) and free throw percentage (.898 FT%) while ranking in the top five among rookies in total points (367), rebounds (114), assists (59), field goals (127), free throws (44), and minutes played (669).
As one of 11 players in the NBA averaging 15 points per game on 45/40/85 shooting splits, Knueppel is the only rookie currently doing so and ranks second among the group in 3-pointers made. He recently tied Charlotte’s rookie record for 3-pointers made in a single game (seven, Nov. 23) and became the second Hornets rookie to post 25-5-5 with 5 3PM in a single game (Nov. 19), joining teammate LaMelo Ball.
Knueppel scored a career-high 32 points in his home city of Milwaukee (Nov. 14) and is the only rookie with multiple 30-point games this season. In an overtime win over Toronto, he posted his 10th-career 20-point game; no other rookie has more than six 20-point games this season.
Knueppel is the first player in NBA history with 50 3-pointers made in his first 15 games. He is the first Hornets rookie to record 10 20-point outings within his first 20 career games, and the 45th player in NBA history to do so.
