Deschutes County residents can now watch the Portland Trail Blazers on an over-the-air network.
The Trail Blazers announced Wednesday an expansion of the Rip City Television Network — in partnership with Sinclair and Central Oregon Daily News — to bring Trail Blazers games to Central Oregon Daily throughout Deschutes County.
Deschutes County was previously the only county in Oregon that did receive the Rip City network.
All non-exclusive nationally televised game broadcasts will be broadcast over-the-air on Channel 18.2 and on COTV dedicated cable channels, according to a Trail Blazers news release. Games will be accessible via an over-the-air antenna or a local cable or satellite provider that carries COTV. To learn more, visit Trailblazers.com/watch.
“Rip City pride runs far beyond Portland — the Trail Blazers are Oregon’s team,” said Kevin Kinghorn, chief marketing officer for the Trail Blazers. “Our expansion of the Rip City Television Network to Deschutes County reinforces our commitment to reaching fans across every corner of the state and region. We’re grateful to partner with Central Oregon Daily News to make Blazers coverage even more accessible to Central Oregon communities.”
Portland Trail Blazers broadcasters and NW Emmy Winners Kevin Calabro and Lamar Hurd, along with Brooke Olzendam, are in their ninth season calling all Trail Blazers games across the Rip City Television Network. Trail Blazers Broadcasting continues to produce the pregame, halftime, and postgame show for each game.
