The 12th-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide (5-2) return home from the Players Era Festival in Las Vegas on Wednesday night to host the Clemson Tigers (7-1) in an ACC/SEC Challenge matchup at Coleman Coliseum in Tuscaloosa.

Alabama lost its opener at the Players Era Festival on Nov. 24, dropping a 95-85 decision to then-No. 12 Gonzaga before bouncing back with a pair of blowout wins, 115-76 over UNLV on Nov. 25 and 105-72 over Maryland on Nov. 26. Against the Terrapins, the Crimson Tide led by 20 at the half and steadily pulled away. Sophomore Labaron Philon Jr. led seven players in double figures with 20 points, junior Aden Holloway finished with 17 points and 10 assists, and Florida State transfer Taylor Bol Bowen and freshman Davion Hannah dropped 12 points each.

Clemson last played on Friday night, blasting visiting Alabama A&M 92-56 for its fourth straight victory. Middle Tennessee transfer Justin Porter scored 14 points in 20 minutes, Utah Valley transfer Carter Welling came off the bench for 12 points in 18 minutes, and Georgia transfer RJ Godfrey finished with 10 points and eight rebounds in just 20 minutes of playing time.

Clemson finished 27-7 last season with an upset loss to McNeese in the first round of the NCAA tournament, while Alabama’s 28-9 campaign ended with a loss to Duke in the Elite Eight. The Tigers are 8-5 all-time against the Crimson Tide, who last played in the 2023-24 season, splitting two games. Clemson won at Alabama 85-77 on Nov. 28, 2023, before the Tide defeated the Tigers 89-82 in the Elite Eight on March 30, 2024.
