The Boston Celtics might have to face the Washington Wizards without star forward Jaylen Brown, according to the most recent injury report released by the team. The Celtics announced on this Wednesday (Dec. 3) afternoon that the Georgia native is now officially doubtful for the tilt Boston is slated to play against the Wizards in Washington, DC’s Capitol One Arena Thursday (Dec. 4) evening.

The reason Brown has made his way onto the injury report is nothing to worry about, however, with the Cal alum listed as currently dealing with a non-COVID illness that is severe enough to put his status for the Wiz game in doubt. With another national TV game vs. the Los Angeles Lakers at TD Garden the day after the Washington game, Brown could be well enough to return in time to face the Lakers.

He could also be using this brief lull in terms of the talent level of Boston’s opponent to rest for a game that he will be asked to produce across the board at high levels for the Celtics to be competitive against their old rival. Either way, we don’t expect Brown to miss much time with this illness he is listed as doubtful for.
