Physical issues continue to plague forward Zion Williamson. The New Orleans Pelicans star will be sidelined for at least three weeks due to an adductor injury, adding another setback to the long list of physical problems that have marked the career of the former No. 1 overall pick, who has appeared in only ten games this season.

According to ESPN, the 25-year-old Williamson—selected first overall by the Pelicans in 2019—will be re-evaluated in three weeks.

The forward did not make his season debut until November 19 after missing the first two weeks of the campaign with a hamstring injury.

Even after returning, Williamson sat out two additional games to avoid playing on back-to-backs.

In his ten appearances, he averaged 22.1 points and 5.6 rebounds while shooting 51% from the field, though the Pelicans managed just one win during that stretch.

New Orleans currently sits at the bottom of the NBA standings with a 3–18 record, having lost nine of its last ten games.

A two-time NBA All-Star, Williamson has struggled with injuries since entering the league. He has played only 224 of a possible 493 games (45%) for the Pelicans.

Last season, he appeared in just 30 games, and he missed the entire 2021–22 campaign due to a fracture in the fifth metatarsal of his right foot.
