The Portland Trail Blazers have assigned rookie Yang Hansen to their G League affiliate, the Rip City Remix. The 7-foot-2 big man will suit up for the Remix tonight when they take on the San Diego Clippers at the Chiles Center in North Portland at 6 p.m. Pacific.

Yang has appeared in two G League games this season, but tonight’s matchup will mark his home debut at the Chiles Center. In his G League debut on the road against the Valley Suns on Nov. 14, Yang registered eight points, 13 rebounds, four assists, one block and a steal while shooting 4-11 from the field in a 107-104 win. Two days later, he followed that performance up with 21 points on 8-16 shooting, nine rebounds, three assists and three blocks against the South Bay Lakers in a 113-111 loss.

Yang’s assignment to the minor-league team means he’ll be returning to Portland while the main club remains on the road. The Blazers have three games left on this five-game road trip, starting with a matchup against the Detroit Pistons on Friday. Then the Blazers play the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday and New Orleans Pelicans next Thursday before returning home.

During that stretch, the Remix play three more home games. It hasn’t been announced how long this G League assignment will last for Yang, but if the Blazers are okay with him missing some road games, he could be getting much more run at the Chiles Center in the immediate future.
