The Oklahoma City Thunder held practice on Thursday. Sitting at the top of the NBA standings with a historic 21-1 record, they’re amid a rare two-day break. They will host the Dallas Mavericks on Friday.
Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault and Jalen Williams talked to the media after practice. Daigneault discussed how Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s revamped outside shooting has opened the floor up for their offense.
Meanwhile, Williams reacted to Santa Clara retiring his jersey number. He’s played three games so far this season as he recently returned from wrist surgery recovery.
Here’s what else happened in OKC’s Thursday, Dec. 4 practice:
Jalen Williams on Santa Clara retiring his jersey: “It was really cool. Every time I go there, it reminds me that I’m getting older in a good way. The school is evolving more and more… Whenever you leave a place, you want to leave it in better shape.” pic.twitter.com/lIInill6By

Mark Daigneault on Jaylin Williams: “Hartenstein gives us a huge physical presence obviously in a lot of different ways. Physicality around the paint, defensive rebounding, somebody you have to deal with on the offensive glass. He does that as well.” pic.twitter.com/ZunjKcUn0v

Mark Daigneault on SGA’s 3-point shooting: “It’s been this ongoing relationship and ongoing work… He’s put in a lot of time into this. It hasn’t been a 1-summer process.
