The Portland Trail Blazers led throughout the second half on their way to a 122-110 win in Cleveland on Wednesday night.
The Blazers connected on four straight 3-point shots to build its biggest lead at 84-66 midway through the third quarter. Portland would enjoy a double-digit margin most of the rest of the way.
Deni Avdija found his way to the rim for a dunk and a 111-101 lead, approaching five minutes to play, and a Toumani Camara 3 from the left side put the game out of reach, 120-110, with 1:19 left.
“Keep doing the game plan, keep moving the ball,” Camara said. “Trust the process. Basketball is a team sport — just gotta find the right way.”
Avdija once again carried the scoring load for Portland with 27 points, going 16-for-17 (94.1%) from the free-throw line, to go along with a team-high seven assists. Shaedon Sharpe and Caleb Love added 20 points apiece for the Blazers.
Portland held Cleveland to just 13-for-52 (25%) shooting from behind the arc.
The Blazers (9-13) are back in action at Eastern Conference-leading Detroit (17-4) at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
