For the 11-11 Warriors, this is the first game of a three-stop road trip, and the first in a stretch of five road games over the team’s next six contests. Golden State is still without Steph Curry and could be without Jimmy Butler III as well, who had to miss the second half of Tuesday’s loss against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Brandin Podziemski and Pat Spencer were the team’s leading scorers with 17, while the bench trio of Buddy Hield, Gary Payton II and Seth Curry, along with Draymond Green, combined for 53 in the 124-112 loss.
The 76ers are playing the first half of a back-to-back and will be without Paul George while Joel Embiid is questionable. Behind another 35-point outing from Tyrese Maxey, who also had six assists and four steals, Philadelphia improved to 11-9 on Tuesday with a 121-102 win over the Washington Wizards. Jared McCain was the team’s second-leading scorer with 14 as a reserve, while Jabari Walker went for 10 points and a game-high 12 rebounds from off the bench. Andre Drummond also had a double-double with 12 points and 10 boards, and Dominick Barlow added 12 of his own. Rookie VJ Edgecombe had 9 points, six rebounds, equaled Maxey with a game-high of six assists and on the defensive end he had two steals and two blocks.
