Giannis Antetokounmpo and his agent are talking with the Bucks about his future, per ESPN’s Shams Charania. That has the league buzzing about a scenario nobody in Milwaukee wants to think about.
Namely, Antetokounmpo might actually be weighing a trade request.
With that hanging over everything, ESPN’s Kevin Pelton and Zach Kram fired up the trade machine and produced five blockbuster ideas that send Giannis to the Hawks, Rockets, Knicks, Spurs or Warriors.
Every proposal is massive. Every proposal would blow up the league. Here are the exact terms:
Hawks get
Giannis Antetokounmpo
Cole Anthony
Bucks get
Trae Young
Zaccharie Risacher
2026 first-round pick via better of Pelicans or Bucks
2027 first-round pick top-four protected via worse of Pelicans or Bucks
2029 first-round pick top-four protected 2029 to 2031, unprotected in 2032 if not conveyed
2031 first-round pick top-four protected in 2031 if eligible, otherwise unprotected in 2032
*****
Rockets get
Giannis Antetokounmpo
Thanasis Antetokounmpo

2028 first-round swap worse of Bucks or Trail Blazers for Knicks
2030 first-round swap worse of Bucks or Trail Blazers for Knicks
2032 first-round swap
*****
Spurs get
Giannis Antetokounmpo
Bucks get
Stephon Castle
Harrison Barnes
Kelly Olynyk
Jordan McLaughlin
2027 first-round pick via Hawks
2029 first-round pick
2032 first-round pick
*****
Warriors get
Giannis Antetokounmpo
Thanasis Antetokounmpo
Bucks get
Draymond Green
Jonathan Kuminga
Buddy Hield
2026 first-round pick
2028 first-round pick
2030 first-round pick (if 1 through 20)
2032 first-round pick
Antetokounmpo does not have a no-trade clause. He is making $54.1 million this season and holds a $62.8 million player option for 2027. He is also one of the greatest players of his era, a two-time MVP and the engine behind the Bucks’ 2021 title.
Milwaukee has won only one playoff series since then and sits at 10-13 after Giannis suffered a right calf strain on Wednesday.
So yes, the question is out there. Has Antetokounmpo played his last game for the Bucks. We do not know yet. But it’s OK to have a little fun with the possibilities.
