That Hornets injury report is starting to look like the kind of injury report we’ve gotten used to as fans of the team. Over half the roster is on it. Even though some are going to end up suiting up, it’s still going to be a pretty depleted group in Toronto. That means the Hornets are going to be heavily reliant on their starting group to carry their weight. LaMelo Ball needs to play like he did on Wednesday while Miles Bridges needs to get back on track. If Brandon Miller plays, he and Kon Knueppel will at least fill out a respectable starting five along with Moussa Diabate. After that…eesh.
The Hornets may have broken the Raptors last weekend. The loss the Raptors suffered in Charlotte was their first in ten games. They’ve lost two of their last three since. In the two losses, the Raptors were beaten pretty soundly on the glass, especially by the Knicks, who rebounded almost half of their own misses. Even if Kalkbrenner plays, this could be a prime match-up for Moussa to get some extra minutes to see if he can take advantage of that weakness. The Hornets did dominate with Moussa on the floor in last weekend’s contest.
