The Chicago Bulls are in a weird position right now as they enter Friday 11th in the Eastern Conference with a 9-12 record. They are currently on a five-game losing streak and things are not looking too well. They are coming off losing to teams like the Brooklyn Nets, Charlotte Hornets, Indiana Pacers, and New Orleans Pelicans during that stretch, teams not expected to be close to sniffing the postseason this year. It appears there needs to be a change and one player who could be moved as part of that change is center Nikola Vucevic.
Nikola Vucevic should be traded away

The Chicago Bulls have some good young players on the roster in Coby White, Josh Giddey, Ayo Dusunmu, and Matas Buzelis to name a few. They are all 25 years old or younger, giving the team a clear sense for the future. Vucevic is the last big piece of the roster that could not get over the hump with DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine off the roster. The 35-year-old center can be a good piece to move for a contender looking to add a big man as he is an expiring contract as well.
Trading Vucevic may be a difficult pill to swallow, but getting younger and allowing younger players to develop could help down the line. Rebuilding in the NBA is something that can happen quickly, just take a look at the Oklahoma City Thunder. If you draft correctly and make some savvy trades, you can be right back in contention. The Eastern Conference is not too strong and it appears the 2025-26 Chicago Bulls are not a couple moves away from being a contender.
Trading away Vucevic could allow the team to get an asset from a desperate team looking for a big man while allowing the Bulls’ rotation to get more chemistry. Vucevic is still a good player as he is averaging 16.6 points and 9.9 rebounds in 31.0 minutes, but he’s not what the team needs right now. He has been visibly and verbally frustrated over the last few weeks as well, so let the unhappiness leave the locker room and begin the next era of Chicago Bulls basketball.
