The Los Angeles Clippers made a shocking move Tuesday night, choosing to release All-Star veteran point guard Chris Paul, but they weren’t done tweaking their roster just yet.
After Thursday’s 115-92 win over the Atlanta Hawks, the Clippers waived rookie forward Jahmyl Telfort and signed guard RayJ Dennis to a two-way contract.

Telfort went undrafted out of Butler in 2025 and signed with the Clippers late in June. The 24-year-old featured in eight of the Clippers’ games this season, but averaged just 4 minutes per night. He recorded a single point to go with three rebounds and an assist across 34 professional minutes this season.

He also featured in six games for the San Diego Clippers in the G League, averaging 12.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists on 33.3 percent shooting and 31.9 minutes per night.
Dennis is a more fit replacement to fill Paul’s role on the bench for the Clippers, and has seen some meaningful play already in the young NBA season.
The 24-year-old guard began the season with the Indiana Pacers, and saw the floor in 13 games before they waived him at the end of November. He averaged 4.9 points per game with the Pacers, as well as 1.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists on 12.9 minutes per game.
Dennis played twice in the G League this season for the Noblesville Boom, averaging 19.5 points per game on 38.2 percent shooting.

The guard is familiar with the Clippers organization, having spent two separate stints with the team in 2024. He initially joined the team for the 2024 NBA Summer League and signed with the team afterwards, but got waived a month later. He rejoined the team Oct. 28, 2024, though he stayed in the G League until the Pacers picked him up in January.
The Clippers are relatively thin at guard with Bogdan Bogdanovic and Bradley Beal both battling injury, so Dennis could find himself in the mix fairly soon.
His first opportunity to impress comes Friday, as the Clippers travel to Memphis to play the Grizzlies at 5:00 p.m. PST/8:00 p.m. EST.
