Brooklyn Nets vs New Orleans Pelicans Preview
Brooklyn Nets have practically no pressure this season. With the departure of Cam Johnson and the injury to Cam Thomas, it became clear that their ambitions are directed toward the future. To be fair, that could already be sensed after the departure of Ben Simmons, who was the last remaining member of Brooklyn’s final attempt to form a superteam capable of winning the league. Since that didn’t work out, it’s not realistic to expect any major results from them this season either. Quite simply, their roster doesn’t have enough quality for any kind of breakthrough, and anything other than the bottom of the Eastern Conference would definitely be a big surprise. The team is currently in 13th place on the standings with a record of five wins and 17 losses.
What should definitely be highlighted about the Brooklyn Nets is that at this moment they actually look pretty good. Even though the overall results aren’t impressive, the team has won two of their last three games, beating the Charlotte Hornets and the Chicago Bulls. In the run-up to this matchup, they didn’t perform particularly well, as they suffered a home defeat to the Utah Jazz by a score of 110–123. They opened the game excellently and, after 12 minutes of play, had a nine-point lead, and it seemed they were controlling the game—at least until the final quarter. Then came an inexplicable collapse on both ends of the floor. They allowed the visiting team to score 42 points compared to their 20, and that’s when the game was decided. Noah Clowney was the best player for the Brooklyn Nets with 29 points. Ziaire Williams followed with 23 points.
The New Orleans Pelicans are one of the franchises that has been stuck in place for years. It’s clear that, for now, the club’s front office doesn’t seem to have a plan for a brighter future. For years, there was talk about a group of talented young players who were supposed to carry the team, but nothing ever came of it. The feeling is that everyone gave up after Brandon Ingram was traded last season, and Zion Williamson remained the last “mohican”—and it’s only a matter of time before he goes down the same path. As for the current season, it’s obvious that the roster doesn’t have the quality to compete with its rivals, and accordingly, no tangible results should be expected from them. Supporting this is the fact that they sit in last place in the Western Conference with only three wins and as many as 20 losses. Looking at both conferences, they are by far the worst team in the league.
The New Orleans Pelicans enter this game after five consecutive losses. Interestingly, in two of those five games they lost after overtime, where they were beaten by the Memphis Grizzlies and the Minnesota Timberwolves. The latest loss came again against the Minnesota Timberwolves, but this time with a slightly less dramatic ending, as the visiting team won 116–125. The Pelicans certainly deserve praise for their play during the first three quarters, where they stayed even and trailed by only two points heading into the final period, despite being massive underdogs in that game. What followed was a very poor performance in the last quarter, allowing 37 points while scoring just 26, and thus the Minnesota Timberwolves handed them their second straight loss. Trey Murphy was the leading scorer for the New Orleans Pelicans with 21 points, seven rebounds, and eight assists. Saddiq Bey added 20 points.

Injuries and Suspensions
Haywood Highsmith and Cam Thomas will not play for the home team, while Noah Clowney is listed as questionable. On the other side, Zion Williamson, Jordan Poole, Dejounte Murray, and Herbert Jones are out, with Yves Missi also questionable for this matchup.

Brooklyn Nets vs New Orleans Pelicans Best Betting Tip and Prediction
Brooklyn Nets are the favorites in this game, although it is a fact that neither team is particularly impressive this season. What is clear is that both teams have offensive problems and that they lack obvious individual quality in that part of the game. To get the win, it is necessary for them to be at their level defensively. Therefore, our suggestion is that we will see a total of fewer points than the offered line.
