WASHINGTON — On Saturday night, Atlanta Hawks forward Jalen Johnson continued to build his case for his first All-Star nod, perhaps even the 2025-26 NBA Most Improved Player award.

One evening after he recorded the second-fastest triple-double in NBA history — reaching 11 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists during the first half, after he logged only 16 minutes and 44 seconds of playing time — the 23-year-old recorded yet another triple-double.

Johnson hit the milestone again Saturday in Washington, as a rebound with 3:06 remaining in the third quarter gave him 18 points, 10 boards and 10 assists.

His Hawks led the Wizards 91-79 at that point.

Johnson now has four triple-doubles in his 22 games played this season, his fifth year in the NBA. During his first four regular seasons combined, in which he appeared in 184 games, he notched a grand total of two triple-doubles.

On Friday, Johnson finished with 21 points, 18 rebounds and 16 assists as the Hawks lost at home to the Denver Nuggets in a heartbreaker, 134-133.

Johnson is the second player in Hawks history with consecutive triple-doubles, joining Bob Sura (2004).
