*This is a prediction*
The Los Angeles Lakers have gone on to emerge as one of the top teams this NBA season. Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves have turned into a formidable duo, leading them to a 16-6 record.
While the Lakers have been one of the best teams in the Western Conference, they will need to do more as a team if they want to truly compete with the first-place Oklahoma City Thunder, who hold a 22-1 record.
The Lakers will have to be active at the NBA Trade Deadline, and the way they can do so further is by trading for Dillon Brooks.

Phoenix Suns Trade Dillon Brooks to the Los Angeles Lakers
The Phoenix Suns are having their own strong start to the season, as they have a 13-10 record, but they could look to restructure the team a bit if things start to slide the opposite direction at any point.
With LeBron James seemingly not making as much of an impact as he once used to, Los Angeles could look to trade him as well at the deadline, as his averages of 15.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 7.2 assists per game are all career-lows. His age, injury history, low production and offseason uncertainty he provided are all reasons the Lakers need to move on.
If they trade LeBron James, they will need someone to help be the next third reliable option alongside Doncic and Reaves, and that is where they can turn to Dillon Brooks for help.
Trading for Dillon Brooks would bring the Lakers someone who plays with a new intensity level, and elevates the defensive side of things for them as well. Brooks is currently having his best season, as he has averaged 22.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game. With Brooks better displaying a well-rounded ability to his game, he becomes the ideal trade candidate for Los Angeles.
It would be difficult for the Suns to give Dillon Brooks away in a trade due to how he has played this season, but they could look to get Rui Hachimura and Dalton Knecht plus a first round pick in return, as Hachimura can help provide more lineup versatility, while they also get a young star that has flashed potential in Dalton Knecht.
