Nikola Jokic is probably the most intimidating player in the NBA. He’s just so unstoppable, and he keeps getting better when no one thinks that is possible. This year, he’s averaging 29/12/11 while shooting 60% from the field and 41% from three. And that’s become so commonplace for him that no one is really even talking about it. He’s coming off a cool 40-piece in a comeback win over the Hawks on Friday.

Jamal Murray is also having a career year, averaging a career high in points thanks to improved shooting percentages. That duo is the bedrock for the Nuggets offensive success, and the rest of the team is built to fit around them. Cameron Johnson is a better fit than the player he replaced, but he doesn’t bring quite the offensive firepower that Michael Porter Jr did. The rest of the group are kind of single skill guys, like Peyton Watson and his defense or Tim Hardaway Jr and his 3-point shooting.

The suddenly depleted Hornets will be without LaMelo Ball. They’ll try to scrape together a good performance against a title contender. If you’re one for schedule analysis, this could be a letdown spot for the Nuggets coming off a big comeback win before making one last stop in Charlotte before going home. But even if it were a letdown, I don’t know how much that’d matter.
