The post Warriors’ Draymond Green, Jimmy Butler get injury status updates for Bulls game appeared first on ClutchPoints.
The Golden State Warriors were severely shorthanded Saturday night, as head coach Steve Kerr confirmed that Draymond Green, Jimmy Butler, De’Anthony Melton, Seth Curry, and Al Horford all missed the road matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Kerr said he’s also unsure if Green and Butler would play in their next game against the Chicago Bulls.

Green (right midfoot sprain) aggravated his injury during Thursday’s loss to the 76ers. He later left the arena in a boot after undergoing an MRI. Butler, dealing with left knee injury management, sat for the third straight game.
Still, Kerr expressed guarded optimism that the group could return for Sunday’s showdown with the Bulls.
“I’m optimistic, but I’m not sure yet,” he said, pending updates from head athletic trainer Rick Celebrini. On a positive note, Stephen Curry remains on schedule to return next Friday against Minnesota as he continues to progress through quad rehab.
Golden State entered the Cavs game at 11-12, sitting eighth in the Western Conference amid an inconsistent start to the 2025-26 campaign. Despite strong moments from veterans and steady contributions from young guns, the Warriors have struggled to find offensive rhythm while maintaining a solid defensive profile. Early-season frustration has surfaced internally. This is especially true with injuries disrupting continuity. Saturday’s contest in Cleveland added another challenge with multiple starters unavailable.

Both Green and Butler have shown flashes of their trademark intensity and versatility when healthy. That said, frequent setbacks have limited their availability. Green is averaging roughly 8.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 5.5 assists. Meanwhile, Butler has posted 19.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 5.0 assists in 20 games. Their hopeful return Sunday underscores how critical health will be for Golden State’s push to stabilize its season.
