Powell is not concerned about the Heat’s recent stretch

The Heat suffered their third consecutive loss, falling 127-111 to the Sacramento Kings on Saturday. It was not the best result for the Heat, as they wanted to bounce back after a close loss to the Orlando Magic on the first leg of the back-to-back.

It should be a worrying result for most teams, but the Heat are focused on getting back their early-season form. The Heat are ready to keep fighting, which they can do on Tuesday in an NBA Cup Quarter-final game against the Magic. It will not only be a chance to advance in the in-season tournament but it could also be payback for the loss on Friday.

As one of the Heat’s best players, Powell knows they can compete with any team. This stretch is admittedly rough for Miami, but the players are ready for redemption. Powell is playing well, but the rest of the team must step up. Even Bam Adebayo agrees, as the Heat are ready to get payback against Orlando on Tuesday and resume the Heat’s winning ways.

“I don’t think we’re too concerned right now. If you look at the four of five we lost, we could easily be 4-1. Gotta get back to who we are and our identity offensively and defensively, especially in this game, no excuse to lose back-to-back,” Powell said after the loss to Sacramento.

“Just tightening up the little things, how we want to play, the flow, and the play style we want to get back to over the course of the year so far.”

The Heat have a higher ceiling than most people realize

Early in the season, the Heat started a much faster style than before. They had Jaime Jaquez Jr. running the length of the court almost every possession, which has worked out for the Heat this season.

However, they did have to adjust to Herro’s return. He is not the typical player who would run all the time, but he is the team’s best player from the 2024-25 season. Coach Spoelstra has to integrate him into the system, which requires some minor adjustments.
