The Memphis Grizzlies are back in action on Dec. 7 at home against the Portland Trail Blazers (5 p.m., FanDuel Sports Network).
Through 23 games, the Grizzlies (10-13) have developed trends based on the difficulty of their opponents. Memphis is 10-0 against teams currently with a record of .500 or worse and 0-13 against teams .500 or better.
The Blazers (9-14) are under .500, but they have wins against some of the NBA’s top teams this season. Portland is the only team to beat the 22-1 Oklahoma City Thunder.
Memphis got encouraging news with star point guard Ja Morant. He was upgraded to doubtful on the latest injury report with a strained right calf. He’s unexpected to play, but Morant is getting close to a return after missing time since Nov. 15.
The Blazers will be missing starting guard Jrue Holiday, who is also nursing a right calf strain. Center Donovan Clingan is questionable to play due to a lower leg contusion.
Portland has a 60-48 lead in all-time meetings with Memphis.
