*This is a prediction*
Despite having a fun team to watch, 2025 hasn’t been a great year for the Charlotte Hornets. This could result in them making some moves, and one idea is sending Miles Bridges to the Phoenix Suns.
As of now, the Hornets have a 7-16 record, and you should expect them to start making some trades sooner rather than later. There are really two main trade pieces on this roster right now.
Bridges and LaMelo Ball. With Ball, that seems possible, but he’s viewed as the team’s franchise player right now, and it’s not as realistic.
With Bridges, he’s only 27 years old, but he’s been playing well and has some solid trade value right now. For the Hornets, they’re at the point where they should start to look into the idea of tearing everything down.

Miles Bridges Trade Proposal to the Phoenix Suns
When saying Bridges is 27 years old, he’s still pretty young in relative terms. However, if the Hornets aren’t going to be competitive, there’s not really much of a point in keeping him on the roster.
Bridges is already pretty much at his peak, and it’s more than likely that by the time the Hornets do need production again, he’ll be on somewhat of a downward trajectory. Instead of holding onto just one player, the Hornets could benefit from having a few different assets.
In order to find a realistic deal for both sides that would actually work, here’s a mock trade via Fanspo.
The mock trade has the Hornets trading Bridges for Dillon Brooks and a 2026 first round pick.
Now the Hornets wouldn’t ideally keep Brooks because he’s even older at 29 years old. However, the Hornets could trade Brooks, a strong defender, closer to the deadline for youth and or draft picks.
All things considered, with Brooks playing well this year, it’s a very even deal for both the Hornets and the Suns.
As for why the Suns would want Bridges, they’re playing well this year but not quite ready to make a deep playoff push. By trading for Bridges, they get back someone who can score the ball, but he’s two years younger than Brooks.
Right now, the Suns have a 13-10 record, which is good but not great. Going from Bridges to Brooks would allow the Suns to still stay competitive, but it keeps their window to compete open for longer.
Other Miles Bridges Landing Spots
This isn’t the first time I’ve brought up the idea of Bridges being traded, as this start from the Hornets was fairly predictable. Previously, that prediction was the Hornets trading Bridges to the Detroit Pistons.
Here’s the brief rundown from that article.
“With everything starting to come together for Detroit, now is the time to start pushing their chips in…On one side, the Pistons would give up Duncan Robinson, Ronald Holland, and a 2026 2nd round pick. For the Hornets, all they would need to do is move Bridges.”
Both options would be good for the Hornets, and it really comes down to what they want. If the Hornets don’t want to try to move Brooks, another deal could make more sense.
At the same time, the mock trade with the Suns could be more beneficial if things work out well for Charlotte.
Miles Bridges Stats
Through 23 games this year, Bridges has some good stats. Bridges has 20.8 PPG, 6.2 REB, and 3.4 AST. All things considered, both the Suns and Pistons would benefit from this kind of production.
After breaking down why the Phoenix Suns could be a fit for Miles Bridges, it shouldn’t be shocking if a deal were to get done.
