The Dallas Mavericks (8-16) head home after a brutal loss on Friday night to face the Houston Rockets (15-5). Dallas had their butts kicked by the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday. The Rockets thumped the Phoenix Suns in their last contest, also on Friday night.

Here’s the main things you need to know before the game kicks off.

The Mavericks have the usual crew on the report. Kyrie Irving, Dante Exum, and Dereck Lively are all out. Daniel Gafford is listed as questionable, which is disappointing. PJ Washington is listed as questionable, but that’s been the case for several games. The Rockets will be without Alperen Sengun, who is listed as doubtful (with an illness). Steven Adams is out as well with an ankle issue.

The Rockets missing two of their huge and important big men levels the odds quite a bit for Dallas, but the odds still have them as an 8.5 point favorite. I don’t have strong feelings on this one, I’d like to see Cooper Flagg play well and Anthony Davis have some heart after last night’s “performance”. Basically I think what I’m hoping for is to be entertained.

As you can tell below, you can join me in a room on Playback (embed below) during the game (though I may not be able to start it until halftime). Also consider joining Josh and I on Pod Maverick live after the game on YouTube, we should start around 10:15 pm. Thanks so much for spending time with us here at Mavs Moneyball. Let’s go Mavs!
