In a bizarre sequence in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game, the Magic’s Desmond Bane wound up and threw the ball one-handed at the Knicks’ OG Anunoby, who had fallen to the ground out of bounds.

And it was not like Bane had to save the ball or had to throw it off Anunoby – he had corralled the ball with both feet in bounds and was not off-balance.

Anunoby pushed him and exchanged a few words with Bane, who received a technical.

It came with the Knicks leading 91-80 after Anunoby had been blocked on a fast break. The Knicks held on for a 106-100 win.

He was subsequently booed by the MSG crowd every time he touched the ball afterwards.

Anunoby laughed it off after the game, however.

“I was confused at first, then it was funny,” Anunoby said. “I like Desmond. … He’s a good dude.”

On the MSG broadcast, Mike Breen and Clyde Frazier were taken aback by the move.

“There is no reason for that, to throw it like that, to wind up and throw it,” Breen said. “‘What are you doing?’ says OG Anunoby.”

“I’ve never seen that…” Frazier responded. “That play looked very hostile, but it’s legal.”
