The Indiana Pacers will be without Tyrese Haliburton for the entire season. Tearing his Achilles tendon just seven minutes into Game 7 of the NBA Finals. He was immediately ruled out when the year began, so he didn’t feel any pressure to rush back.

Haliburton isn’t the only Pacers starter who has gotten hurt this season. Andrew Nembhard and Aaron Nesmith have both missed significant chunks of the season. Because of that, Indiana has he second-worst record in the Eastern Conference.

Haliburton has been working hard to return fully healthy for next season. Haliburton recently showed off even more progress in his rehab, posting a video to social media about his progress.

Pacers Guard Tyrese Haliburton Details Injury Progress in Video

On his social media account, Haliburton posted a video showing him doing complex dribble moves, making shots, and running. Haliburton was also doing side-to-side drills to show that he is starting to get his agility back. Haliburton was also seen dunking the ball.

The Pacers are pleased with the progress that he has made so far with his rehab. He mentioned a few weeks ago that he was already ahead of schedule with what he had completed up to that point.

“I feel really good, maybe a little bit ahead (of schedule). I feel good every day. Every day is a different battle. I have good days and bad days, but I feel good overall. I just stay engaged. It’s nice to some sense of normalcy and be with the guys all the time.”

Of course, being ahead of schedule does not mean that the Pacers would consider playing Haliburton at any point this season. They will not risk him getting hurt again while the team is toiling way with one of the worst records in basketball.

Tyrese Haliburton Should Return Fully Healthy in 2026-27

The goal for Haliburton is for him to be fully healthy next season. Right now, the Pacers are projected to have a top-five pick. The rest of the team should return fully healthy, so that would give them a great chance to contend for a championship.

The Pacers are having the worst possible season after coming within two quarters of winning the first NBA championship in franchise history. Still, they maintain confidence they will be back in contention next season when everyone is healthy once more.

Without Haliburton, the offense has been putrid. Indiana has the second-worst offense in the league. Only the Wizards have a worse offense than the Pacers. That is not expected to change anytime soon. Haliburton is one of he ten best players in the league, and not having him has been crushing.

Indiana will have to make this year’s draft pick count. If Indiana wants to make a trade next season, they own their next six first-round draft picks after the 2026 NBA Draft. That will help Indiana in heir pursuit to get back to the NBA Finals.
