Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Timberwolves saw their impressive five-game winning streak come to an end Monday night with a nail-biting 108-105 loss to the Phoenix Suns at Target Center.
The game came down to the final possession, with Jaden McDaniels getting a clean look at a game-tying three-pointer at the buzzer. The shot rimmed out, sealing the victory for Phoenix and leaving the home crowd deflated.
Despite the loss, Anthony Edwards put on a spectacular performance, erupting for 40 points in the Timberwolves’ losing effort. Edwards kept Minnesota in the game throughout, but his heroics weren’t enough to extend the team’s winning ways.
The defeat drops the Timberwolves to 15-9 on the season.
The Wolves will look to bounce back quickly as they head west for their next contest. Minnesota is scheduled to visit the Golden State Warriors on Friday night.
