NEW YORK CITY — The Utah Jazz’s first win streak of the season didn’t last long as they dropped in a blowout to the New York Knicks on Friday.

The tone was set early as New York broke the game open with a 41-13 advantage in the first quarter. Utah went on to win the second and fourth quarters, but couldn’t make up enough ground in the end.

Lauri Markkanen and Keyonte George led the way for the Jazz with 18 apiece. Jalen Brunson continued his early-season tear with 33.

Utah will return home to play four of the next five at Delta Center.

NOT a perfect start for the @utahjazz, who trail the @nyknicks 16-0 to open the game. pic.twitter.com/A7rB7oKQju

The @utahjazz follow up their best quarter of the season to close out the Nets with their worst quarter of the season to open the game against the @nyknicks.

Second Quarter

With 6:51 left in the first half, the @utahjazz trail the @nyknicks 52-23.

After getting outscored by almost 30 in the first, the second quarter is currently an even 18-18.

The good news, the @utahjazz are +2 over the last 18:30 of the game.

The bad news, the @nyknicks were +23 over the first 5:30 of the game.

Third Quarter

The Jazz still seem to blow some seemingly simple switches on ball screens.

Latest one with Svi and Lauri both staying with Josh Hart, and Jalen Brunson springing for a wide-open three.

It isn’t just a bad Jazz game, it’s a great Knicks game.

NY is shooting 52/52/94 compared to 35/30/75 for Utah.

Not to mention, more assists, more rebounds, fewer turnovers, etc etc.

The @nyknicks made sure the @utahjazz weren’t going to climb back into this one, extending their 21-point halftime lead to 38 after a 47-30 third quarter.

Jazz haven’t had it at any point tonight. #TakeNote pic.twitter.com/HFIAth0cjp

Fourth Quarter

Honestly, if Walt Clayton Jr. starts hitting threes consistently (he has a career-high three in the fourth quarter alone), he might be hard to keep out of the rotation.

Good for him to use these blowout minutes to continue to improve.

The @utahjazz get blown out by the @nyknicks 146-112 to wrap up the road trip with a 1-1 record.
