Bryan Armetta shares his three favorite player prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for Wednesday’s two-game NBA Cup slate.

The NBA Cup quarterfinals continue tonight, this time with a four-team slate out west. To kick things off, the surprisingly competitive Suns will hope to earn a massive upset over the defending champion Thunder. Later, the Spurs are heading to Hollywood for a matchup with Luka Doncic’s Lakers.

High-stakes matchups should add some extra excitement to tonight’s hoops action. Added intensity could lead to some remarkable individual performances. Which players should bettors trust this evening? Here are my three favorite NBA prop bet picks on DraftKings Sportsbook for Wednesday’s contests.

Top NBA prop bet picks

Grayson Allen 3+ three-pointers made (-136)

One reason for Phoenix’s unexpected 14-10 record is its depth. The Suns still roster several quality role players, with several good options off of the bench. That includes Grayson Allen, who has cemented himself as a starter this season. Through 16 games, the Duke alum is averaging 16.9 points, 2.9 rebounds and 3.9 assists. The veteran’s claim to fame is his shooting, as seen in his 44/40/77 splits so far. Allen is tied for the sixth in the NBA with 3.4 three-pointers made per game.

Devin Booker could make his return on Wednesday; he’s missed time due to a groin injury. Even if the All-Star is active, it shouldn’t make too big of a dent in Allen’s workload. If anything, it’ll mean more open shots in the corner. Oklahoma City’s defense, while dominant, has been somewhat vulnerable from beyond the arc. The Thunder rank inside the NBA’s bottom ten teams in opponent three-pointers made per game (14.4) and percentage (36.9%). In comparison, Allen has drained at least three long balls in ten of his 16 appearances this season. Another solid showing from long distance could be in the cards tonight.

Deandre Ayton 14+ points (-110)

LeBron James, Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves form a dangerous trio in Los Angeles. Still, it’s not as if the Lakers don’t have some intriguing role players surrounding their Big Three. Deandre Ayton was considered an essential signing this summer, giving the Purple and Gold a legitimate starting center. Despite some early struggles, the big man is starting to get acclimated with his new team. Over his last ten outings, Ayton has recorded 15.0 points, 10.2 rebounds and 1.2 blocks.

If Victor Wembanyama were playing tonight, this would be a different story. However, the center has been ruled out yet again as he deals with a calf injury. In the Frenchman’s absence, San Antonio’s defense has declined across the board, especially down low. Over their last three contests, the Spurs have surrendered an NBA-worst 76.0 points in the paint per game. Ayton has reached 14 points in four of his previous six games. When these teams met on November 5th, with Wembanyama playing, Ayton tallied 22 points over 33 minutes. Even a slight reduction in scoring would allow the former top pick to clear this modest total.

Dylan Harper 4+ assists (-106)

We’ll stay in SoCal, where San Antonio’s hopes at an upset hinge on its back court. The trio of De’Aaron Fox, Stephon Castle and Dylan Harper are vital to the Spurs, both now and going forward. The latter, taken with the second pick of this summer’s NBA Draft, has missed time due to injury. Still, when healthy, it’s easy to see what the 19-year-old brings to the table. Over 13 games this season, Harper has accounted for 13.5 points, 3.1 rebounds and 3.9 assists while shooting 48% from the field. In spite of his lackluster 28% three-point percentage, the youngster has impressed.

One aspect of Harper’s game that remains underrated is his playmaking. The guard has tallied at least five assists in each of his last four appearances. That includes matchups with high-end defenses such as Cleveland and Orlando. The Lakers, while tough on that end of the floor, don’t offer the same level of resistance. Los Angeles has surrendered 27.6 assists per game to its opponents, the eighth-worst mark in basketball. Harper has seen a rise in minutes, and usage, over his last seven games. That bodes well for his chances at making an impact tonight in primetime.
