New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson stunned the basketball community by receiving a few votes to become mayor of the city. Jalen Brunson Wants To Get Back at Josh Hart if He Becomes New York’s Mayor

After establishing his presence as one of the young and rising stars in the league with the Dallas Mavericks, Brunson joined the Knicks and has transformed the team into a legitimate postseason contender in the Eastern Conference. Setting his success on the court aside, Brunson has also become a local legend.

Upon hearing that he received 27 votes to become the mayor, the Knicks star was interviewed and questioned on the potential initial moves that he would make in office.

Another integral member of the New York roster is Josh Hart. While Brunson is the undisputed best player and focal point on offense, it is Hart who does all the little and important things for the Knicks. An argument could be made that Hart is the most well-rounded player on the roster.

There is no denying that Brunson and Hart share a close relationship. That was made evident when Brunson pointed out that his first official act, if he were to become the mayor of New York, would be to pardon whoever stole Hart’s watches.

“If I was the mayor, I would make sure whoever stole Josh’s watches in New York City, I would make sure they walk.”

Brunson’s cheeky response elicited a fair amount of laughter and amusement. To those who do not know, Hart had a bag containing $185,000 worth of watches and jewelry stolen from a hotel in Manhattan. Although an investigation followed, nothing substantial materialized, and the bag remains missing.

Since Hart is on a four-year contract worth $80,915,280, it is safe to say that losing almost $200,000 in valuables did not significantly affect him. While Hart may be eager to seek justice and find the thieves who stole from him, Brunson is clearly interested in leaving his teammate in that state of confusion.

Brunson’s potential decision to pardon the thieves who stole from Hart captures the jovial and close friendship between the two stars. In any case, 27 votes are nowhere close enough to ensure that Brunson is a frontrunner to become the mayor. Even if he defies all odds and ends up winning, fans will wonder if Brunson will end his NBA career prematurely to get back at Hart.
