The New York Knicks wrapped up a 117-101 win over the Toronto Raptors in the quarterfinals of the 2025 NBA Cup at Scotiabank Arena on Tuesday.

Jalen Brunson played a large role in New York’s lopsided victory. Brunson scored 35 points, with 20 coming in the first quarter alone. He shot 13-of-19 from the field and 6-of-9 from behind the arc, recording four assists.

Fans praised Brunson’s performance.

The contest initially didn’t seem as though it would become a blowout, as the Raptors held a 39-35 lead over the Knicks at the end of the first quarter largely due to 17 points from Brandon Ingram.

New York’s defense improved in the second, though. The Knicks outscored the Raptors 34-13 during the quarter, highlighted by a 19-4 run to open the period.

New York pushed its overall lead to 24 points early in the second half and never looked back, as Toronto ultimately wasn’t able to cut the deficit to single digits at any point during the remainder of the game.

Josh Hart was a key contributor for the Knicks alongside Brunson, as he scored 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting while connecting on four triples. Hart also recorded six rebounds, four assists and two steals.

Karl-Anthony Towns shot just 4-of-11 from the field, but made his presence felt by pulling down 16 rebounds and racking up two blocks to go along with his 14 points.

For the Raptors, Ingram finished with 31 points on 11-of-18 shooting. The rest of Toronto’s rotation struggled offensively, though.

The Raptors ended the game with 43.3/28.9/66.7 shooting splits as a team, committing 14 turnovers.

New York will now head to Las Vegas to face the Orlando Magic in the NBA Cup semifinals on Saturday.
