The Boston Celtics are back in action on Thursday, Dec. 11 looking to extend their five-game winning streak before another three-day break, and they are once again on the road, this time against the Milwaukee Bucks at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee.
This NBA game is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. EST and will be broadcast on NBC Sports Boston and FanDuel Sports Network Wisconsin. Fans looking to watch can do so for free by using DIRECTV, which offers a free trial, or FuboTV, which also offers a free trial as well as up to $30 off your first month. The Celtics have won 10 of their last 12 to get to 15-9, and now they get their first crack this season at the 10-15 Bucks.
Boston is hoping it can take advantage of a hobbled Milwaukee that will be without two-time MVP and 2021 Finals MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo for the third straight game thanks to a calf injury that is expected to sideline him for most of December. The Bucks won the game against the Detroit Pistons where Antetokounmpo got hurt, but they’ve since lost two straight, first at home to the Philadelphia 76ers, 116-101, and then on the road against the Pistons, 124-112. Kevin Porter Jr. ripped off 32 points with six assists, four steals and four rebounds in Detroit, while Ryan Rollins added 10 points, six helpers and six boards and Kyle Kuzma went for 15. Myles Turner had 12 points and Gary Trent Jr. went for 11 off the bench on Saturday.
It hasn’t been since Sunday that the Celtics played, giving them one less day of rest as all of the teams get some additional off days thanks to the NBA Cup. But back on Dec. 7 when the squad was in Toronto taking on the Raptors, it was once again Jaylen Brown and Derrick White that carried the scoring burden going for 30 and 27, respectively. It was the 13th time this season the 2024 Finals MVP dropped at least 30, and Boston is 9-4 in those contests, including each of the last three games he’s played in. Neemias Queta added an 11-point, 11-rebound double-double, and Payton Pritchard contributed 15 points and six assists as Jordan Walsh went for 9 with six boards and three steals. Anfernee Simons once again led the bench in scoring, this time with 12, while Sam Hauser chipped in a trio of triples, two blocks and a steal.
