Optimistic News Regarding Stephen Curry Has Been Revealed

Last Sunday, it was revealed that Curry had started individual on-court work and was making strong progress toward a return. That news alone brought a sense of relief to the Warriors community. But recently, even better news arrived.

NBA insider Anthony Slater, during a recent segment on ESPN, reported that Curry is officially cleared for his return. Slater cited the Warriors’ injury report, noting Curry is no longer listed and is fully available to play.

“Tomorrow night, Minnesota at home, the Warriors have targeted (Curry’s return). This is really since last week, when they told him to skip that three-game road trip out east. They had him stay at home, get treatment purposely to get ready for Wednesday night’s practice.”

“They are in the middle of four days off because of this cup week. They had night practice. They scrimmaged all six minutes; he came out of it well,” said Slater during the ESPN segment.

At the same time, Slater reported that both Draymond Green and Al Horford will miss the Warriors’ next game, against the Minnesota Timberwolves. While losing two experienced veterans is a setback, Curry’s return gives Golden State a massive boost.

Curry has missed five straight games after suffering an injury in Golden State’s 104–100 loss to the Houston Rockets on Nov. 26. The injury occurred late in the fourth quarter during a collision at the rim when Curry and Houston’s Amen Thompson both crashed to the floor after Thompson drove hard to the basket.

The play was initially ruled an offensive foul on Thompson, but after review, officials overturned it to a blocking foul on Curry. The Warriors star stayed down in clear pain before slowly limping to the locker room. Before the injury, Curry was averaging 27.9 points, four assists, and 3.7 rebounds per game.

In Curry’s absence, the Warriors have managed a 3-2 record. During this stretch, Pat Spencer has stepped up and shown his skills.

In their most recent game, against the Chicago Bulls on Dec. 7, Golden State dominated from start to finish without Curry. The Warriors led by 13 points after the first quarter, extended their lead to 14 points by halftime, and reached their biggest lead in the fourth quarter, up 33. The game ended in a 123-91 win for Golden State.

The Warriors will next face the Minnesota Timberwolves on Dec. 12, and this time, Curry will be back on the floor, ready to elevate the team once again.
