Winter is coming in Arizona, and there’s plenty of sports activity. The college athletic seasons are well underway, including those at Arizona State and Grand Canyon. Meanwhile, the Phoenix Suns‘ NBA G League affiliate, the Valley Suns, has started its season.

Diamondbacks spring training tickets on sale
Tickets for the Arizona Diamondbacks’ home exhibition season at Salt River Fields are on sale now at dbacks.com/spring.
Arizona and its co-tenant Colorado Rockies open the spring training season with back-to-back games on Friday, Feb. 20 (with the Diamondbacks as the visiting team) and Saturday, Feb. 21 (home team).
Among the highlights in their 16th season at Salt River Fields (28th spring training overall) are six weekend games, an exhibition game against Team Mexico on Tuesday, March 3, and matchups against the San Francisco Giants (March 7), Seattle Mariners (March 9), San Diego Padres (March 15), Chicago Cubs (March 18) and Milwaukee Brewers (March 20).
All of Arizona’s home games during the day at Salt River Fields begin at 1:10 p.m. MST.

WM Phoenix Open named Event of the Year by PGA
The WM Phoenix Open was named “Event of the Year” as part of the PGA TOUR’s “Best of” awards.
The Open has earned the award six different times, which is given to a tournament that excels in every facet of the event. In 2025, the Open upgraded to include expanded walkways, redesigned ingress points and reimagined hospitality and “open-to-all” fan areas.
The Open returns to TPC Scottsdale on Feb. 2–8, 2026. In 2025, Thomas Detry captured his first career PGA TOUR win and became the first Belgian champion on the PGA TOUR.
