The 9-14 Chicago Bulls have an opportunity to kick off its tank before the trade deadline in February.

After starting the season 6-1, the Bulls are stuck in reverse, suffering a seven-game losing streak before they next play the Charlotte Hornets on Friday night.

With a disaster brewing Chicago, the team has a perfect candidate in the trade market.

Per Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times, the 15-9 Minnesota Timberwolves are looking to nab point guard Coby White. And they want a deal done sooner rather than later.

“According to a source, Coby White has been inquired about, and time is of the essence in the Bulls making a decision,” Cowley wrote.

“The source said that Minnesota is not looking to wait until February and the trade deadline to get a deal done, looking to fix the primary ball-handling situation that’s been an issue all season long for them.”

The calls for White comes amid reported tension in the Bulls locker room. White has been trying to ease tensions amid the losing streak, but right now, the battered and injured group isn’t coming together.

Per Cowley, the hold up in trade discussions is the desire of executive vice president of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas to field a competitive roster instead of openly tanking. Cowley thinks the Bulls might be more intrigued if they got a player back in return.

Chicago isn’t going anywhere with this team. Frankly, the roster appears to be in disrepair.

The Bulls should offload White and get draft picks in return. But that’s not AK’s way.
