Denver Nuggets keep stacking up championship-caliber numbers. Their 18–6 record after last night’s 136–105 win in Sacramento over the Kings marks the best start in franchise history, a benchmark powered by an 11-game streak on the road.
They’ve dropped only two games away from Colorado – on opening night in San Francisco against Golden State and later in Oregon against Portland. Overall, they sit at 12–2 on the road compared with just six wins in ten home games.
They’re moving at a titleholder’s pace thanks to a giant like Nikola Jokic. The Serbian center delivered another outing to remember with 36 points on 87.5 percent shooting. He added 12 rebounds and 8 assists in barely three quarters, spending only 30 minutes on the floor.
Two heavyweights, Denver and Jokic, are chasing the shadows of two others – the Oklahoma City Thunder and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. It’s a futile race, because their rival shows no sign of slowing and has already surged to an eye-popping 24–1 start, a pace previously reached only by the 73–9 Golden State Warriors. An enormous season overshadowed by an even more astonishing one. Two powerhouses destined to measure themselves in the playoffs.
