However, for the Celtics to be considered true title contenders again, they need to get a starting calibre big man.
ESPN’s Brian Windhorst was asked on Instagram Threads if the Celtics could trade for Los Angeles Clippers’ center Ivica Zubac.
“Well Zubac is absolutely not available and absolutely not a stretch big.
“But yes, this is an area where Boston needs to replenish after losing Porzingis and Horford and they will be looking for opportunities.”

Behind him, the Celtics have managed minutes using a variety of situational players, including Luka Garza and they have had occasional support from Chris Boucher and Xavier Tillman.
The coaching staff has also effectively utilized small-ball second units in certain stretches, demonstrating the roster’s current adaptable structure.
However, acquiring another reliable rim-running big man would provide coach Joe Mazzulla with a new dynamic to the roster, one that could unlock a championship formula for the Celtics.
