Jalen Brunson and the New York Knicks were in Toronto on Tuesday night to take on the Raptors in an NBA Cup quarterfinals matchup.

It was a highly anticipated game, as a spot in the semifinals was on the line. Brunson and the Knicks ended up getting the win, and a courtside exchange between Brunson and a heckler is now making the rounds.

Brunson Has a Mic-Drop Moment With a Heckler

With about three minutes to play in the first quarter, a fan began heckling Brunson as he tried to inbound the ball. The back-and-forth took a turn when the fan accused Brunson of flopping.

Jalen Brunson: “Why you harassing me?”
Fan: “That’s a flop”
JB: “That’s a foul. Just playing by the rules”
Fan: “Don’t flop my boy. Stop flopping”

Brunson then delivered a perfect response to the fan. The star guard pointed up at the Jumbotron, which showed that the foul call was legitimate and not a flop. The heckler didn’t have anything to say after that.

Immediately after, Brunson went down the court and drained a three to put the Knicks up 28-25 late in the first. The Knicks would go on to win the game 117-101, and Brunson led the way with 35 points.

20 of Brunson’s points came in the first quarter alone, which was Brunson’s most productive quarter of the season so far. The star shot 13-19 from the field and 6-9 from deep while adding four assists and three rebounds.

The Knicks shot 53% from the field as a team and outrebounded the Raptors by 11. All five starters and Jordan Clarkson off the bench scored in double-digits.

Brunson Sets Knicks Up for NBA Cup Showdown

Brunson’s masterclass in Toronto means the Knicks will now take on the Orlando Magic in the NBA Cup semifinals. The winner of that contest gets a spot in the final against one of the four remaining Western Conference teams.

The Knicks have been on a tear of late. The team has won eight of its last 10 games and is now in a position to get to the NBA Cup Finals for the first time.

Overall, the Knicks are in first in the Atlantic Division and trail only the Detroit Pistons in the Eastern Conference.

Much of the team’s success can be attributed to Brunson’s elite play. The eighth-year guard is currently averaging 28.3 points, 6.3 assists, and 3.1 rebounds per game, while shooting 48.0% from the field and 37.6% from beyond the arc.

The Knicks and Magic will tip off from Las Vegas on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. ET.
