Memphis Grizzlies PG Ja Morant has been sidelined since mid-November after suffering a calf strain, but he could be close to returning.

The Grizzlies are officially listing Morant as questionable for Friday’s game vs. the Utah Jazz at 8:00 p.m. ET. Morant has missed Memphis’ last 10 games after being forced to leave a Nov. 15 contest vs. the Cleveland Cavaliers early.

According to The Commercial Appeal, Morant participated in a full practice on Thursday, which opens the door for a potential return on Friday.

Grizzlies G-F Cedric Coward is in the midst of having a very impressive debut campaign and has been very productive with Morant hurt. Since Morant has been out, Coward is averaging 12.4 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in 10 games.

Recently, Coward had one of his biggest games of the year with 23 points on 10-of-18 shooting and 14 rebounds in a 107-98 win vs. the Los Angeles Clippers on Dec. 5. He has finished in double figures in 11 of his 15 games, including reaching the 20-point mark twice during that span.

Coward, who was the 11th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, has seen his minutes increase as the season moves along and now has 11 starts under his belt.
