The unofficial start of the 2025-26 NBA Trade Season comes on Monday, December 15th. That’s the day when players signed last summer become eligible for trades, opening up the vast majority of the league to exchanges. Not so coincidentally, this is also the time when teams begin realizing their fates for the year: some in need of help, others with plans that have been dashed, both parties willing to talk about player swaps.
Today Sam Quinn at CBS Sports published a handy guide to the players coming available next Monday. They include all of the following:
Obviously the least likely acquisition for Portland would be Lillard, since they already have him. The second-least would probably be Deandre Ayton. Other than those two, do you see anybody on that list who would intrigue you? The necessary combination: can be traded for given Portland’s assets, would make sense as a fit, and wouldn’t push the aggregate salary cap number any higher.
