During the Mavericks’ eight-point win over the Nets, Marshall recorded 17 points, 1 rebound, and 4 assists in 32 minutes of playing time.
Reacting to Marshall’s dominant night, Flagg had nothing but praise for the undrafted small forward during the postgame conference.
“Naji, he’s the knife. That’s his nickname for a reason. He just does a little bit of everything. He’s everywhere. He’ll cut up the defense, cut off the drive,” Flagg said, via Noah Weber on X.
He added: “He’s been shooting better. I think when he’s just out there, we’re a better team. Defensively, he brings that dog.”
In simple terms, Marshall is a player, who wouldn’t stuff the box score, but he’ll always nag opponents, which, of course, helps the Mavericks.
Naji Marshall is a winning player, says Cooper Flagg
For a player who went undrafted, Marshall has slowly but surely carved out a role for himself in the NBA.
First, with the New Orleans Pelicans and now with the Mavericks. Continuing his praise for Marshall, Flagg hailed the 27-year-old as a winning player.
“He does everything. He’s such a win player, and you just need those types of guys on your team,” Flagg stated.
