Draymond Green has been one of the franchise cornerstones for the Golden State Warriors for as long as most fans can remember.
Over the years, Green has been a consistent leadership voice for the Warriors. He has helped lead the franchise to four championships, being mostly known for his defensive ability and physicality.
While he has meant a lot to Golden State since being drafted with the No. 35 overall pick in the second round of the 2012 NBA Draft, Green is not getting any younger. He is currently 35 years old and there is a chance that the Warriors could consider looking to replace him at some point in the near future.

Keeping that in mind, that scenario was recently suggested by ESPN.

In a recent article, ESPN suggested that Golden State could consider trying to make a move with the Dallas Mavericks for superstar big man Anthony Davis. To acquire Davis, Green would need to be a part of the suggested trade package.
A three-team trade has been put forward that would include the Warriors, Mavericks, Charlotte Hornets, and Los Angeles Lakers. Here’s what that trade might look like.
Warriors Receive: Anthony Davis, Mason Plumlee
Mavericks Receive: Draymond Green, Jonathan Kuminga, 2026 First-Round Pick (via Warriors)
Lakers Receive: Buddy Hield
Hornets Receive: Maxi Kleber, Dalton Knecht, cash considerations (via Lakers)
Moving on from Green, Kuminga, and Hield to acquire Davis would be an extremely aggressive move for Golden State. Davis could be the piece that powers the Warriors back to being a serious NBA Finals contender, but it also might backfire.
Over the years, Davis has had trouble staying healthy. If he were acquired by Golden State and then went down with injury, the season could instantly be over from a championship perspective.

As for Green, the 35-year-old forward has played in 20 game so far this season. He has averaged eight points per game to go along with 6.1 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 0.9 blocks, and 0.8 steals. Green is still more than capable of making an impact.
More than likely, the Warriors will keep Green past the NBA trade deadline, but that can’t be guaranteed. At some point in the near future, Golden State will look quite a bit different than it has for years.
