Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant is expected to make his return from a right calf strain injury against the Utah Jazz on Dec. 12, Grizzlies coach Tuomas Iisalo said.

Morant has missed the last 10 games while dealing with a right calf strain. He left a matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first quarter.

In 12 games, Morant is averaging 17.9 points and 7.6 assists per game.

Morant’s return comes right after the Grizzlies learned that center Zach Edey would be reevaluated in four weeks due to a stress reaction in his left ankle.

Backup center Jock Landale will likely step into a starting role with Edey out. Vince Williams Jr. has started in place of Morant, so he will likely return to a reserve role.

Iisalo said that Williams will still get opportunities as a playmaker.
