The talk around the NBA is Giannis Antetokounmpo’s future with the Milwaukee Bucks.
Will the Bucks deal their two-time MVP?! Given the team’s 11-15 record, subpar supporting cast and limited flexibility to build around Antetokounmpo, a breakup between the two sides feels inevitable. The question remains: When will it come?!
Earlier this month, ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania reported that Antetokounmpo and his agency were discussing his future in Milwaukee with the team’s brass. And should he be moved, you could make the case that Antetokounmpo would be one of the best to ever be traded midseason.
NBA insider confirms Heat are interested in Giannis Antetokounmpo:
To nobody’s surprise, the Miami Heat will be one of the teams interested in trading for the two-time MVP, NBA insider Chris Haynes confirmed Saturday.
“I think the Knicks have interest in [Giannis Antetokounmpo]; I think the Miami Heat have interest in Giannis,” Haynes said. “The Golden State Warriors have had interest in Giannis for a long time; the San Antonio Spurs — the list would go on and on — the Minnesota Timberwolves.
“Ultimately, I think for Giannis, wherever he lands, I think, preferably, he’d like to have some sun. He would like to be in a big market. Outside of that, he just wants to be on a team where he competes for a championship. He’s been very adamant about that being a main priority.”

Sun, you say? Miami could offer plenty of that!
Antetokounmpo would instantly elevate plenty of teams into some sort of championship contention, including the Heat. Though the Spurs would be best suited to not only conjure up the best package, but also have the best supporting cast around Antetokounmpo to compete with Oklahoma City and Denver for a title.
The East is wide open (for good teams). Miami is currently in the midst of a four-game losing streak. But Antetokounmpo’s fit alongside Adebayo — Miami isn’t trading him — is tantalizing.
The Heat only has two tradable first-round picks (2030, 2032) with just three pick swaps (’26, ’29, ’31). They also have none of their own second-round picks through 2032. They don’t have a poor collection of young players — spearheaded by Kel’el Ware and Jaime Jaquez Jr. — and salary fillers, either.
Where do you think Heat’s best package stacks up against these aforementioned teams?! Let us know in the comments!
