Mobley suffered the injury in the Cavs’ return to action against the Washington Wizards on Friday.
CLEVELAND — Cleveland Cavaliers forward Evan Mobley will be sidelined for at least the next two weeks following a calf injury sustained against the Washington Wizards on Friday evening.
Mobley finished the game with 23 points and 13 rebounds in the comeback victory fueled by Donovan Mitchell’s 48 point performance, but was found to have strained his calf during a postgame medical evaluation.
The team released the following statement via a press release:
Cavaliers forward Evan Mobley injured his left calf during Friday night’s game at Washington after postgame evaluation of tightness in that area. An MRI today (Saturday) at Cleveland Clinic Sports Health revealed a Grade 1 strain. Mobley will begin treatment and is expected to miss approximately 2-4 weeks. Mobley posted 23 points and 13 rebounds in the Cavaliers 130-126 win over the Wizards.
Friday’s win elevated the Cavs’ record to 15-11 on the season. Mobley joins an already bloated injury report for the Wine & Gold including guards Sam Merrill and Max Strus, forward Larry Nance Jr. and center Jarrett Allen.
