The Cleveland Cavaliers’ current season is not unfolding as expected after a dominant 2024 2025 campaign in which they finished with a 64 win and 18 loss record.

The Ohio franchise remains mired in a crisis of both performance and results, as after being 21 and 4 at this point last year, they now sit at 15 wins and 11 losses this season, surrounded by uncertainty.

Last Friday, Kenny Atkinson’s team had to work extremely hard to secure another victory, edging one of the NBA’s weakest teams, the Washington Wizards, 130 126 on the road.

However, the win came at a significant cost, as one of their stars suffered an injury and, according to the latest update, is expected to miss several games.

The player in question is Evan Mobley, last season’s Defensive Player of the Year.

The 24 year old center sustained a Grade 1 strain of the left hamstring and, based on the team’s diagnosis, will be sidelined for between two and four weeks.

Until now, Mobley had missed just one game this season and, with this injury, he is not expected to return to action until early 2026.

After 25 games played and averaging 34 minutes per contest, Mobley is posting 19.1 points, 9.3 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.6 blocks per appearance this season.
