The Oklahoma City Thunder will face the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday. It will be the first matchup of the season between the squads. This is also the 2025 NBA Cup semifinals.
The Thunder (24-1) have won a franchise-record 16 in a row. They destroyed the Phoenix Suns in a 138-89 win to advance in the NBA Cup on Wednesday. They led by as many as 53 points. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 28 points and eight assists in three quarters.
Meanwhile, the Spurs (17-7) had an easy 132-119 win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday to go to Las Vegas. Stephon Castle went off for 30 points and 10 rebounds.

It’ll be a rare close game for the Thunder. The Spurs have done an excellent job at muddying their offense. Gilgeous-Alexander has 23 points, but nobody else really has anything going. Should be an exciting finish.
Hartenstein turns it over as Vassell knocks down the transition 3-pointer. Thunder call a timeout as they’re on the wrong side of a 10-0 run. Too many OKC turnovers as it has 10.
Well, Wembanyama completely changes this game. He’s only played seven minutes but is a plus-20. Not really a great first half on offense for the Thunder. They let San Antonio get back in it after being up by as many as 16 points.
Didn’t take long for Wembanyama to change this game. The Spurs have played with confidence and are right back in it. Wemby finds Champagnie for the corner 3-pointer. That forces OKC to call a timeout.
Gilgeous-Alexander with 10 points. Nice to see the Thunder play their fully healthy starting lineup for the first time this season. Haven’t missed a beat. Meanwhile, still no Wembanyama as he’s on the bench.
The Thunder will start Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Lu Dort, Jalen Williams, Chet Holmgren and Isaiah Hartenstein. The Spurs will start De’Aaron Fox, Stephon Castle, Devin Vassell, Harrison Barnes and Luke Kornet.
