Monday Player Prop Best Bets

Below you’ll find my official plays on the player prop market for Monday. These are the ones that make the VSiN Pro Picks page and count towards my season-long record.

Davion Mitchell Over 8.5 Points (-122) vs. Raptors

Raptors at Heat – 7:30 pm ET

It wouldn’t have been crazy to see Mitchell’s minutes decrease when Tyler Herro returned to action. However, the feisty two-way performer is still playing roughly 30 minutes per night at the point guard spot. That should allow him to continue to put up some good offensive numbers. Mitchell is normally somebody that racks up assists, so I occasionally look to him as a playmaker. However, I think the move tonight is to take Mitchell to score at least nine points against the Raptors.

Mitchell has scored at least 10 points in three of the last four games, so he should be able to take advantage of a strong matchup. Well, this is one of them. Toronto is just 27th in the NBA at guarding spot-up shooters. That should benefit Mitchell, who shoots 39.3% from 3. The Raptors are also just 22nd in the NBA at defending at the rim. That’s another boost for Mitchell, as he scores 36% of his points at the basket.

I just don’t think it’s outrageous to expect Mitchell to get two feet in the paint rather often here, and I also like him to knock down a triple or two.
