Although Stephen Curry is still years away from retiring, prominent members of the basketball community believe that he has a legitimate case for the title of “best player on this era” over LeBron James.

Veteran NBA fans will agree that Curry and James are generational talents and the current faces of the league. Over the course of their respective careers, the two NBA stars have won four NBA championships each, cementing their positions in league history.

Why Stephen Curry Can Be Viewed As Superior to LeBron James

Paul Pierce is a former NBA star and champion, best known for his time with the Boston Celtics. During a recent interview, Pierce hinted that Curry had done enough to take over the title as the best player of this generation from James.

Whenever NBA fans engage in the infamous GOAT discussion, James is always immediately introduced while Curry is a distant afterthought. Perhaps this makes sense, given that there is no comparison between the two NBA stars in terms of all-around abilities and skill set.

Be that as it may, there is no denying that Curry surpasses James in a few categories, primarily long-distance shooting. Pierce kept in mind the success that Curry has experienced against James over the years when comparing the two NBA legends.

“Like how many times has Curry beat Bron in the Finals?…He beat him three times. The man has a unanimous MVP when Bron was in his prime…You cant get one vote? No one is getting a unanimous MVP in the Jordan era…”

Paul Pierce says Steph Curry has every right to feel like he’s the best player of his era over LeBron James.

“Nobody is getting a unanimous MVP in the Jordan era.”

The former Celtics star went on to imply that it is Curry who truly deserves the title of the best basketball player of this generation over James. Pierce also pointed out that Curry’s sense of superiority is totally understandable, given his impressive list of accomplishments and accolades.

While the debate between Curry and James is expected to continue for many years, the fact remains that the Golden State Warriors veteran is the only active star in the league with enough accomplishments to rival the Lakers’ star.

Although Curry and James will never meet in the NBA Finals as long as the two of them are in the same conference, the fact remains that they have matched up in high-stakes postseason games more frequently when compared to any other two stars across league history.

Regardless of who is viewed as better, it is safe to say that the two of them have cemented their respective positions in league history for their own unique abilities and skill sets. Fans are left wondering which of the two stars has a better chance to win a fifth NBA title before their careers come to an end.
